You then can shift to electric trains, PHEV etc.

charlesHAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28837843.post-52985460061088345622010-07-03T20:47:58.642-07:002010-07-03T20:47:58.642-07:00The low-emitting air travel solution is, of course...The low-emitting air travel solution is, of course, blimps/dirigibles. They don't need runways. They are slower, but London to Spain or Prague isn't all that far, plus they don't need large hub airports the way jets do, which would save travel time.

Also, I think your premise is wrong-headed. Failing to build a third runway isn't much evidence of asceticism; tearing out one of the existing ones would be.Steve Bloomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12943109973917998380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28837843.post-63676105113124931342010-07-03T20:00:08.293-07:002010-07-03T20:00:08.293-07:00How are such reactors going to power aircraft? How are such reactors going to power aircraft?David Appellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03318269033139447591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28837843.post-8578979208286069962010-07-03T19:34:06.592-07:002010-07-03T19:34:06.592-07:00You can see the article

Here is my favorite (although it is really not new). Also endorsed by Dr. James Hansen.

http://www.americanscientist.org/issues/feature/2010/4/liquid-fluoride-thorium-reactors

If "warmers" would join Dr Hansen and push this technology as a solution to AGW "skeptics" would enthusiastically support it.

charlesHAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
