Atomic Scientists

The NY Times calls Wen Ho Lee an "atomic scientist," which would make him the first such scientist in about, what, 80 years? I mean, wasn't Niels Bohr the last atomic scientist? The Washington Post gets it right, calling Lee a "nuclear weapons scientist." Atomic does not equal nuclear.
