Ocean heat content numbers are in for the first three months of 2013, and they show the
0-2000 meter layer increasing more than in any previous observed period (
added 5/28: except one):
The total change in the top half of the ocean works out to 0.70 W/m
2 over its 8.25 years of data (per area of the ocean).
