    My understanding is that Zimmerman had a bloody nose and cuts on the back of his head. Martin had bruised and bloody knuckles.

    Pretty obvious to me Zimmerman tried to head butt Martin and Martin defended himself with his knuckles. His nose now very sore, Zimmerman then tried a reverse head butt and his blood was transferred to the back of his head from Martins knuckles.

    On the other hand, if you want some really fanciful thinking you might read this timeline.

    so just bruises, no blood.
