I think there's truth in this cartoons. Money affects scientific research. When most of the money supports one POV, then most scientific research will somehow support that POV. After all, scientists have to get funded in order to succeed in their career.
Of course, the POV with the big money behind it is not the skeptical side.
There's an art to cartooning and I don't understand how the cartoonist passed up using a real first name such as Dee instead of going for the abbreviation. :/
And to David in Cal: Good thing money is going to alternative energy research since fossil fuels won't last forever. Or are you one of those guys that think fossil fuels are a renewable resource?

I'm in favor of research into alternative fuels and renewable fuels, for the same reason as you are, David.

And that's why there is big money going into it, not because of climate scientists' career concerns.
