    People often think of reducing CO2 as a form of pollution control. And, it is the case that many steps that would reduce CO2 emissions also reduce the emissions of other pollutants. But, not always. Diesel vehicals can get excellent milage. So, diesel is good for fighting CO2 emissions, but it's bad with respect to various other pollutants.
