I believe the rate of oil production increase is similar or even higher than Saudi Arabia when it grew the fastest (initial growths, not resumption of withheld production during cartel actions).

This post from 2008 shows ASPO-US predicting we would be at ~1 B bbl/year as of this year. Instead, we are at well over 4.

Looks like the "best case" didn't encompass enough range of possibilities...
