Entropic, the skeptics understood long ago that what counts if convincing lay people and politicians, or at least create doubt. This is much easier than convincing scientists.
The sceptics stopped seriously participating in the science debate years ago. As you say, their communication is now political and aimed at non-scientists.
Like it. Haven't yet seen a working sceptic model. Can't think why not.
