Just calculated that, when I was born, US population was only 54% of what it is today.
World population was 38% of today's.
Not really sure why, but these numbers make me kind of nostalgic and kind of sad.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I have a hunch that current increases in military budgets around the world isn't just about some threat from an incompetent Russia, but that strategists are worried about collapse and want to make sure they end up on top or at least survive.
