12-month Temperature Record

I was playing with the GISS temperature anomaly data, and it turns out that the last 12 months (April 2009- March 2010) have been the warmest 12-month period in their records.

Hi David,

I wrote some code to analyze the data, and assuming it works properly, the record-breaking recent maximum is robust over periods of anywhere from 3 to 12 months -- that is, whether you pick a period of 3 months, 4 months, etc., the historical record is happening basically right now.

Records for longer periods of 13-24 months are clustered around 2004-2005, but we're well on our way to breaking them over the next year at the current pace.
